Skills Bootcamp Working in Health and Social Care
This programme is designed to equip learners with the essential skills and knowledge needed to kickstart a successful career in the health and social care sector. With the support of local employers, we offer invaluable work experience opportunities, ranging from a minimum of 1 day in a chosen route to up to 4 days for those undecided.
Our programme aims to support the development of an informed and effective workforce that has the necessary skills to provide the best quality care in the roles and settings where they work.
Course Content:
- • Emergency First Aid at Work L3
- • Care certificate knowledge topics: Gain knowledge of the 15 standards on the care certificate
- • Safeguarding Level 3 Principles of safeguarding & Protecting Children
- • Moving and Assisting with a Hoist
- • Mental Health awareness
- • Wraparound support in Basic Skills (English/Maths and Digital Skills)
- • Employability support to prepare you for a role in Health Care support
What you will gain:
- • Internal accreditation at Level 3 (RARPA)
- • External accreditation in Health and Social Care L3 from a recognised awarding organisation
Eligibility Criteria:
- • Adults (aged 19 and above)
- • Must have the right to live and work in the UK
- • Cannot be attending a full-time education course
This Skills Bootcamp programme has 2 target groups:
- • Unemployed individuals with an interest in working in Health & Social Care, both as a volunteer (during the programme) and as an employer (progression after the programme)
- • Employed individuals currently working to support vulnerable adults in Health & Social Care
Outcomes:
- • If unemployed: Learners will have a guaranteed job interview with the possibility of gaining employment where you will earn at least the London Living Wage, a mentor and work experience.
- • If employed: Learners will be offered an interview for a new role/more responsibilities within the current organisation with a better pay (earning at least the London Living Wage) and a mentor assigned by the employer.
