The Care Standards is an identified set of standards that health and social care workers adhere to in their daily working life.  Designed with the non-regulated workforce1 in mind, the Care Standards gives everyone the confidence that these workers have the same introductory skills, knowledge and behaviours to provide compassionate, safe and high-quality care and support. These experiences and empathy to support other vulnerable people and their families receiving health services either in a volunteering or employed capacity.

With the right skills and knowledge, the employed staff having completed programme can provide a good quality of life at every stage of the dementia condition, allowing people living with dementia to remain active and engaged, for as long as possible.

Our programme for the employed has being in direct response to challenges with dementia care and our programme is aimed to supporting the development of an informed and effective workforce for people working with those living with dementia.

Employee involved in the care of people who may have dementia should have the necessary skills to provide the best quality care in the roles and settings where they work.

Learners will achieve the Certificate as well as receive wraparound support in Basic Skills (English/Maths and Digital Skills) and employability support to develop them in preparation for a role, employed in Health Care support.

The Programme has 2 target groups:

Employee currently working supporting vulnerable adult in HealthCare

• Volunteering Assistant currently volunteering who can be supported to develop in their role with the progression option into full or part time employment in Healthcare Support work.

• Unemployed Individuals with an interest in working in healthcare both as a volunteer (during the programme) and employed as progression from the programme.

• Employee currently working supporting vulnerable adults in HealthCare
