Overview

If you are interested in working in the hair, beauty and/or nail sector, we can help you achieve your goal.

We offer the following courses:

  • • Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing
  • • Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology
  • • Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments

In addition, our qualifications are also perfect for employers who want to train and upskill their employees, which in turn will also support business growth and team motivation.

Entry Requirements
  • • Adults (aged 19 and above)
  • • Have the legal right to live and work in the UK

Before starting, you will need to complete
  • • An Initial Assessment to assess your skill level
  • • An Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) session with us

Progression

By achieving these qualifications, you may be able to progress:

  • • To another course/level
  • • To employment (dependent on prior qualifications and experience)
  • • Or to other vocational career paths, such as apprenticeships or volunteering opportunities (also depending on your qualifications and experience)

At the end of the course, you will have increased your confidence, motivation and the skills you need to be a valuable member within your community, in the workplace and/or in any further learning.

Qualifications & course requirements (prior to starting)

In addition to our Entry Requirements (on the overview tab), you should:

  • • Have achieved Level 1 English and Maths qualifications (if you are working below a level 1, we will work with you to improve this level)

In this course, you will learn to:
  • • Creatively Cut Hair - develop skills to combine cutting techniques to imaginatively create looks on the hair
  • • Colour Hair Creatively – identifies how to use and place advanced colouring techniques to enhance hair designs
  • • Identify the key aspects of managing a team - Human Resource Management
  • • Promote Products and Services to Clients in the Salon – develops the skills required to up-sell and add value to Hairdressing Services
  • • Do Bridal Hairstyling
  • • Hair Colour Correction
  • • Develop knowledge of monitoring and maintaining health and safety, hairdressing consultation support for colleagues, client care and communication skills which are essential to work and to be successful in the Hairdressing Industry

  • • Care for the nails on the feet including foot massage and application of polish
  • • Apply and maintain nail enhancements - liquid and powder, gel and wraps
  • • Design and apply nail art
  • • Use of airbrushes in nail art design

  • • ITEC Level 3 Diploma in Nail Technology

In this course, you will learn:
  • • Facial skincare - to include cleansing, exfoliation, facial massage and the use of face masks
  • • Eyelash and eyebrow treatments - to include brow shaping and lash and brow tinting
  • • Manicure treatments - to include nail care, exfoliation, massage of the hand and lower arm and nail painting
  • • Pedicure treatments - to include nail care, exfoliation, massage of the foot and lower leg and nail painting
  • • Waxing - to include removal of hair using hot and cool wax methods
  • • Body massage - to include consultation, identifying skin types, general body types, different types of fat and common postural faults and contraindications, selecting suitable massage mediums for the client’s skin type, classical massage movements and adapting the treatment to the client’s specific needs
  • • Indian head massage - to include the use of techniques such as classical Indian Head Massage movements, massage mediums and adapting the treatment to the clients’ specific treatment needs
  • • Microdermabrasion treatments - to include consultation, skin analysis, recognising contraindications and contra- actions, carrying out relevant tests prior to treatment and adapting the treatment to the client’s needs
  • • Client care and communication - to include using effective consultation techniques, communicating and behaving in a professional manner, adapting methods of communication to suit the client’s needs, maintaining client confidentiality in line with legislation and using and adapting retail sales techniques
  • • Monitoring health, safety and hygiene - contextualised to the environment the Learner will be working in
