MI Skills Development Centre is a well-established social business based in South East and South West London, delivering skills training and employability support to unemployed people as well as those who wish to enhance their current skills and knowledge.
Our programmes are primarily funded by the Greater London Authority (GLA), the Department of Education (DfE), Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) and by local authorities. We offer both accredited and non-accredited training, advice and guidance to learners, to small and medium business employers and communities.
We are accredited by major leading awarding organisations to deliver qualifications for our provisions: City & Guilds (C&G), British Computer Society (BCS), Pearson and CACHE/NCFE.
Current services include:
- • Information Advice & Guidance (IAG): We provide one-to-one support to help you take the steps toward changing your life and work.
- • Integrated Communities and Basic Skills: We offer our learners the essential skills needed for social integration and mobility. This includes ESOL, English, Maths, Digital Skills and Life Skills courses.
- • Skilled Courses: We offer vocational courses in various sectors, including: Adult Care, Children and Young People’s Workforce, Residential Childcare, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, Business IT for office, Computer Engineering, Hair and Beauty and Early Years Educator.
- • Volunteering and Community Projects: We provide volunteer opportunities for our learners to engage, get involved and serve in their communities, which helps them build social skills, improve their confidence, enhancing access to employment for job seekers.
- • Employment & Career Support: We give employability training and job club offers to help adults develop and gain skills and mentoring support towards sustainable employment.
- • Blended Learning: We provide both in-person and virtual e-learning Basic skills and Sector-Focused Vocational training courses and support. .
- • Brokerage & Workforce Development for SME Employers: We deliver recruitment support and accredited training, particularly focused on the health and education sectors.
