MI Skills Development Centre is looking to add to its bank of Foundation Learning Team of trainers/tutors and expanding its presence in the community and working with local groups to deliver training at local venues as well as at MISDC sites. MISDC delivers Accredited and Non-Accredited Learning qualifications at entry to level 2 in ESOL, Digital Skills, Office Use ICT, Maths and English and Employability.  Trainers/tutors with other experience including vocational training in Early Years, Health and Teaching Assistant courses would be of interest to assess each of the above listed curriculum (QCF Entry Level to Level 2 or 3) and recruiting and training to employees within these Sector.

As part of this role, you may be expected to work at various centres or employer’s premises with the ability to adapt teaching and learning strategies and select appropriate resources to meet learner needs. 

MISDC delivers Foundation training to the hard to reach and has referrals from DWP, Local Authorities and other local organisations. Many of our learners have confidence issues and need to be supported and nurtured to become independent learners. Delivery takes place in class, online and in the community and excellent skills in up-to-date delivery methods is required, face to face, blended and online (Hybrid).

The successful candidate will be overall responsible for delivering excellent, inclusive, creative, engaging and motivating lessons to learners. Once in post candidate must work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support learners to overcome barriers so they attend, enjoy, achieve and progress. Ability to keep record and to demonstrate relevant ICT skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-portfolio, E-mail and Internet will also be essential.

You must have experience of delivering in different situations and knowledge or experience of the qualifications offered by major leading awarding organisations.  Being able to work to tight deadlines to support learners to achieve and satisfy internal and external verifiers is necessary.   You must have substantial knowledge, skills and previous experience of teaching adult groups referred from DWP and be able to plan, deliver and adapt teaching with groups of learners with a range of learning needs.

You will hold suitable specialist qualifications to a level 3 or above what you would be teaching on accredited courses. Tutors must hold the equivalent to a Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training / Certificate in the Lifelong Learning Sector (CTLLS) or above

Available to teach during the daytime Monday to Friday, with the possibility of some evening or weekend work depending on demand.
