This qualification is a Certificate at Level 2, which is an introduction to the information and knowledge needed to work in primary, secondary or special schools. It covers the many varied roles that full and part-time support staff may fulfil including administrative roles, site support roles, technical roles and volunteers, as well as those roles that work directly with children and young people in the school environment
It is appropriate for learners not yet employed in a school, as well as providing initial training and induction for those new in post.

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but learners must be at least 16 years of age. Have the right to work in the UK.
This qualification provides pathways into the sector for school leavers or anyone considering a career in supporting children and young people in schools. The Award shares mandatory units with the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools qualification. This provides a direct progression route as any shared units completed can be transferred over and counted towards the Certificate.
The knowledge gained will provide valuable learning should a learner choose to progress onto an Employment in Schools and related areas.

Up to 3 months, but we’ll agree on a target end date to suit you.
How much will it cost?
Due to Government funding, your courses and qualification may be subsidised or free depending on your circumstances (in employment or unemployed).
Persons aged 16-18 are fully funded, 19+ are co-funded or fully funded depending on individual circumstances.
Candidates aged 24 and above may be eligible to apply for Student Loan to cover the cost of the course.
